ABOUT THE FUTURITY PROGRAM
After listening to feedback from our members, we are excited to announce an update to our Futurity offerings at all USMS-sanctioned shoots. In addition to the existing Futurity class, we will be adding a separate, stand-alone Futurity side pot. This side pot will be offered independently and will be available at every USMS-sanctioned event. The Futurity will continue to be run the same as the previous year, in a 2D format, ensuring consistency and fairness for competitors.
Any competitor with a current USMS membership in good standing is eligible to compete in the USMS Futurity program. All Futurity horses must be 4 or 5-year-old horses. The horse must have never competed in any mounted shooting event (any organization, sanctioned or unsanctioned) for money, prizes or points at any time before January 1st, 2026. Futurity horses have one (1) year of eligibility to compete in the Futurity. Horses may have been entered in other (non-mounted shooting) events. The horse must be registered in order to be eligible to compete. Futurity horses are required to be nominated to the USMS Futurity program. A Futurity horse may only be entered one time in the Futurity Class; multiple riders may not enter the same Futurity Horse in a Futurity Class.
